I've always been a creative person, I just didn't know how to express myself for a long time...
Brittney Rivers was born on October 3rd to a mother who always encouraged her daughter to do her best.
She's lived her whole life in Louisville, KY but hasn't let living in one place stop her from seeing the world through the eyes of the New's that's being reported every day. Brittney's a graduate of Full Sail University with a Bachelor of Science in Media Communication. She now has a Master's in English for Creative Writing from SNHU.
When she has free time, she loves playing video games (RPG and Open World being her favorites) watching movies (horror and action movies are her go-to's), and reading for hours on end (young adult novels are her weakness.) She also loves spending time with her three nieces and one nephew. She's also a huge fan of Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
She's up for a dual on any of these three topics at any time!
Hi, my name is Brittney Rivers and welcome to my site. I'm a firm believer in 'words' having power over people. There's been some amazing things and some horrible things that have happened through the years but there has always been a great journalist on the front lines writing articles about it.
I really began to take my passion for writing seriously in 2017 after seeing yet another person of color lose their life to gun violence. I had a crippling thought of "What if that was my niece's or nephew."
My first article 'Why Black Lives Matter To Me' started out as just a post on Facebook but after getting my thoughts in order, I added a little more to it. I wanted non-people of color to see just why people of color have a real fear for their lives in this country.
I wanted to write more articles and share it with people so I created this site, "Words Mean Things" because it was my chance to have a site I could dedicate to my love of words and writing.
My end goal is to accomplish the goals I set for myself and the people I am working with. I have a passion for writing and love of researching information. Getting the chance to find out new information is thrilling and I love sharing that news with the people around me. I'm new to the world of writing but the drive and passion I have to cover the News day in and day out is something I would love to get the chance to utilize at your company.
